"The European Commission must present a budget for 2015 that promotes sustainable growth and jobs all across Europe. We need to frontload EU spending in these areas in order to tackle the continuing employment crisis, particularly youth employment. It is not acceptable that over 5.5 million young men and women, including over 50[nbsp ]000 in Ireland, are still looking for work. We also need to address the EU’s growing payment deficit, which may now reach EUR[nbsp ]26 billion by the end of the year. There are real people, businesses and NGOs behind these figures. Just as we saw with the Erasmus programme last year, there is not a huge cash-flow crisis in the field of humanitarian aid. Organisations that are providing much needed humanitarian aid, such as helping refugees and the victims of natural and man-made disasters, need to know that EU funds will arrive on time. This growing problem must be tackled by the Member States."@en1
