lpv:spoken text	"I welcome the adoption of the resolution on the role and operation of the Troika, particularly the fact that MEPs have supported the amendments I tabled on Ireland’s legacy debt. Paragraph[nbsp ]10 of this report takes up my amendment No[nbsp ]218 and recognises that the private losses of Irish banks were taken onto the shoulders of Irish taxpayers in order to ‘minimise the risks of contagion across the euro area as a wholeʼ, and that Irish taxpayers ‘acted in the wider interests of the Unionʼ. Paragraph[nbsp ]74 takes up my amendment No[nbsp ]828 and urges the EU to ‘make good on its [June 2012] commitment to deal with Ireland’s bank debt burdenʼ. The adoption of these amendments is the first time this Parliament has explicitly supported Ireland’s campaign to lessen the bank-debt burden unfairly placed on the shoulders of Irish taxpayers."@en1
