"The Fine Gael delegation in the European Parliament voted in favour of Amendment 151. While we favour all measures to improve transparency, it is important to note that the common law systems of Ireland and the UK vary from most other Member States with civil law jurisdictions. In Ireland in particular, trusts are established for a number of reasons, including to protect vulnerable people. Amendment 151 distinguishes between high and low-risk trusts when determining which information goes into the public domain."@en1
