The fight against cross-border organised crime and the funding of terrorism requires international efforts and European cooperation, in order to protect our economy and investigate and prosecute the perpetrators of serious crime. Whilst there is much in this report which I support, at this time I believe that greater clarity on the protection of beneficial ownership and trusts is required in order to be fully compatible with the UK’s existing legal arrangements."@en1
