The development of eCall in all new types of vehicle will ensure a reliable and affordable service that can work throughout the EU irrespective of make, country or location of the vehicle. I support the report because I believe that this approach could decrease the severity of accidents on our roads and prevent congestion and further accidents. eCall sends an emergency message following an accident and cuts emergency services’ response times; this quicker response will save about 2[nbsp ]500 lives in the EU every year."@en1
