"Mr President, my point of order is in relation to the Conference of Presidents’ decision to postpone a debate today on the devastation caused right across the western seaboard of the European Union – Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland and the United Kingdom in particular – as a result of the continuing and unprecedented storms and consequent flooding that has impacted so severely on peoples’ lives. At this time we should be having a timely debate to show solidarity with these people, so I want to know why it was postponed, particularly as there was a lull in proceedings today; nothing happened between 10.30 and 11.00 because there was no debate scheduled. So will it be rescheduled for the next part-session? And will we express our solidarity with these affected peoples and also make every instrument available to help them? Our Spanish colleague mentioned it yesterday."@en1
