lpv:spoken text	"After recent debates in Malta regarding ‘citizenship for saleʼ, I believe that it is time to evaluate the issue of EU passports and citizenship being sold to third-country nationals. I voted in favour of this resolution because I believe that any possible negative side-effects of this practice, including distortion of local housing markets and potential for money laundering, should be highlighted and addressed at a European level, in an effort not to undermine the mutual trust upon which the Union is built. I share concerns regarding taxation of the new nationals, and hope that Member States will acknowledge that citizenship within the EU comes with responsibilities, both socially and fiscally. I hope that this resolution will enshrine and strengthen the ‘sincere cooperationʼ between the Union and Member States."@en1
