"Mr President, pollen occurs naturally in honey: ‘for so work the honey-bees… that by a rule in nature teach the act of order to a peopled kingdom’ (Shakespeare Act 1, Scene 2). I have observed before that our national poet has apt words for every situation, including this directive. It is extraordinary to have a coalition of eco-loons and anti-market fanatics now denying not only the laws of the market but the laws of nature in their attempt to define pollen as an additive to honey. It is a rather neat metaphor for the way in which bureaucracies in general and EU officials in particular predate upon the private sector. ‘Injurious wasps, to feed on such sweet honey / And kill the bees that yield it with your stings!’ (Shakespeare. Act 1, Scene 2)."@en1
