For this reason, I voted in favour of the own-initiative report on ‘Effective labour inspections as a strategy to improve working conditions in Europe’. I believe that the labour inspection systems recommended in this report will help to improve working standards throughout the EU, as well as tackling undeclared work. I realise that over recent years, funding for labour inspection has been cut in many Member States, which has often led to a rise in undeclared work and poor working standards. I hope that this report will begin to address this issue."@en1
