lpv:spoken text	"I supported this report which provides the mechanism for Member States to support each other, and third countries, in preventing and responding to both natural and man-made disasters. In the past, such funding has been used to help deal with forest fires in Greece and Spain, as well as the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Typhoon Haiyan. The civil protection mechanism is an example of the solidarity and cooperation that should be at the heart of the European Union and measures included in this report will promote cooperation by facilitating the sharing of information and resources through the establishment of a Common Emergency Communication and Information System and an Emergency and Response Coordination Centre."@en1
