While I believe that better integration and coordination of EU space programmes is positive, the overall purpose of the report is to justify investment of more public funds into the space industry. I cannot support more public funds being invested into EU space programmes as our priority should be jobs and growth. In Wales we are net beneficiaries of the EU budget and we are able to improve our infrastructure and provide opportunities for young people through the use of these funds. I do not want to see funds being diverted to space programmes when so many people are suffering the consequences of the economic crisis."@en1
