"I welcome the adoption of the Justice Programme (2014-20). With a total budget of EURÂ 377 million, the new programme will seek to facilitate and support judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, judicial training, and to promote access to justice for all. I very much welcome the fact that Parliament succeeded in ensuring that the new programme will continue to ensure EU support to initiatives in the field of drugs policy. In this regard, the Justice Programme should seek to implement the EU Drugs Strategy (2013-20) adopted in December 2012, which seeks to reduce both drug demand and drug supply. This should be done in conjunction with the new Health for Growth programme, which will seek to reduce drug-related health damage, and anti-drugs initiatives supported by the Internal Security Fund. The Justice Programme is a relatively small programme but it will benefit public authorities, local authorities and small NGOs all across Europe working on these issues. I would now urge the Commission to issue calls for proposals as soon as possible in 2014."@en1
