This is a very good programme that has brought a lot of benefits over the last 20 years and will continue to do so in future. Some of the recommendations made by Parliament will strengthen it – in particular the emphasis on the environment and action to mitigate climate change, concentrating on areas such as water, air and soil in particular. That is something that the vast majority of citizens would like to be part of and cooperate with. We therefore have to take a bottom-up approach to get buying at local level so that all these programmes will be far more effective and beneficial in the future."@en1
