lpv:spoken text	"Madam President, it is extremely important to invest in research and innovation and scientific activities. If we want to create high quality jobs and improve the quality of life, we need to develop innovative goods and services that will enhance the needs of our society. From an Irish perspective, organisations under FP7 during the period 2007 to 2013 have drawn EUR 572 million. These monies have gone towards research, science and innovative activities in a number of different policy areas, including the fields of information and communication technologies and marine, agriculture, health, energy, food and environmental services. In fact, Irish small and medium-sized enterprises have drawn EUR 116 million under existing FP7 programmes. That augurs well for the future of SMEs in my country under Horizon 2002."@en1
