"I voted in favour of the Common Provisions Regulation. The package that has been agreed in trilogues over the last few months represents a compromise that will mean that funding programmes are streamlined and simplified to ensure the greatest possible impact of EU funding. I am pleased that after months of negotiations the European Parliament has succeeded in ensuring that issues such as more local and regional involvement in the partnership principle, a focus on social inclusion and youth employment measures and a more results-led approach to funding have been included in the final regulation. The adoption of the package will now mean that preparations for projects in my constituency of Wales can get underway as soon as possible at the start of 2014 so that vital money is invested in boosting jobs and creating economic growth."@en1
