The most important issue for Wales was macroeconomic conditionality which would allow the Commission to suspend EU funds for regions in Member States that had violated the rules of the Stability and Growth Pact. I wanted to vote against this. However, the voting order did not allow this. Therefore I abstained. The report was adopted by Parliament by a small majority."@en1
