"I am grateful for that question. You referred to respect for Members. I do not think that the constant travelling, with the huge number of hours that are lost by us and by our staff, reflects respect for our work. The use of the word ‘circus’ refers to the joke that is our current working arrangement. The question I would put to you is this: would you like a single seat in Strasbourg? If the answer is ‘yes’, as I suspect it is for some Members, then surely we need to agree the principle of a single seat, and then agree that a future Parliament can take that decision."@en1
