I did so because I support calls upon the Commission to secure continued funding for the JET facility in Oxfordshire, which employs around 1 000 scientists. I am also pleased to see emphasis on safety within nuclear research, and the assurance of a reasonable balance between men and women in Member States undertaking research and training activities in the nuclear field. I believe that the increased attention given to ensuring that the right information is communicated to the public is a step in the right direction for transparency within the nuclear field in Europe."@en1
