"This report had a number of positive aspects, such as the recognition of qualifications on a cross-border basis, the principle of equal access to inclusive and quality education, the importance of education enhancing the employability of students, the value of vocational guidance and the need for greater emphasis on vocational training. The report also highlighted the role of further education and training in combating youth unemployment and the need to invest in developing skills appropriate to the needs of the economy while at the same time ensuring access to lifelong learning. A final important point as far as I am concerned is that education contributes to active citizenship because we are a society first and an economy second."@en1
