lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this report on in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical devices. They are currently covered by a separate IVD Directive that is outdated due to the limited list of IVD that are considered ‘moderate’ and ‘high’ risk. Many IVD devices can be self-certified by the manufacturer without any third-party conformity assessment. The new proposal changes this and introduces a new risk classification to ensure these devices can be sold safely. In Wales we are very proud of being the birthplace of the NHS and we work to keep high standards of medical care. This legislation will help ensure that."@en¹
