lpv:spoken text	"I welcomed this important resolution. Equal pay for work of equal value is a basic principle in the EU, however, the gender pay gap across the EU has remained very high. This resolution requests the Commission to support Member States to reduce the gender pay gap at least 5 % annually, with the aim of eliminating the gender pay gap by 2020. I have done work with Welsh agency Chwarae Teg on the gender pay gap in Wales. Their research shows the extent of the problem and how important it is that we keep up pressure on governments to help achieve equal pay."@en¹
