lpv:spoken text	"I welcome this own initiative report, which seeks to strengthen the procedural rights of suspects and accused persons in criminal proceedings. It raises important issues regarding the clarity of the rules on the use of derogations. I agree that all derogations should be proportionate, strictly limited in time, and not be based solely on the seriousness of the alleged offence and will not prejudice the overall fairness of the proceedings. I believe in allowing EU citizens' access to justice via the establishment of a common minimum standard across the EU. I also support the rights of suspects and accused persons to access a lawyer in criminal proceedings and to be able to communicate upon their arrest."@en1
