Most citizens are familiar with the activities of the banks which led to the economic recession: excessive mortgages, obscene bonuses, etc. Not many are familiar with insider-dealing activities such as quote stuffing, layering and spoofing, but all these contributed to the economic recession. Thankfully the proposals by Ms McCarthy will help to deal with these practices, and I particularly welcome the strong fines that she is proposing of at least EUR 15 million or 15% of annual turnover , whichever is the larger."@en1
