This text, adopted by the Parliament in advance of the UN summit in September, sends a strong message that human rights must form the basis for development cooperation; universal human rights, including sexual and reproductive health rights, are vitally important to achieving all the Millennium Development Goals. As the biggest aid donor in the world, the EU should be leading the way when it comes to defining the future framework. I believe that achieving an ambitious global framework, delivering measurable goals, should remain a priority on the political agenda."@en1
