Through education on rights, about what people can do with their bodies, what they can achieve working on the land, information about empowerment of the individual. This comes from working with NGOs, but it comes a lot from working on project-based issues. I have seen this myself in southern Africa where we, the EU, bring added value into small communities that then ripple out into much larger urban communities. The challenge is here, but central to me on this issue is the recognition that everyone has the right to use their own body and to have access to goods, health and services. That is the way that the individual can reach and achieve their unique potential. Education and information: then you know what rights you have and what access you have to enable those rights.
