"It is both an economic and moral imperative that misappropriated assets from Arab Spring countries are repatriated in the wake of the revolutions. Despite public commitments from western governments such as Britain that they are committed to helping return stolen assets belonging to Arab Spring countries, millions of pounds of assets remain unfrozen in the UK, and Arab prosecutors have complained that their requests are often held up or rejected by European governments on technicalities. We must commit to returning these assets and not protect dirty money. I welcome this report and the emphasis it places on returning these assets. The issue is a key point of justice and accountability."@en1
