"Thanks for the question. I think the Green MEP answered the point in terms of the relevance of the discussion to this debate. First, you should do some political research about the people you are asking questions of. I do not come from the political tradition that I think you think I come from. I come from a Trotskyist tradition – those who also faced oppression under the regimes in Eastern Europe, Russia and so on. So everywhere across the world I have supported the rights of peoples struggling for a genuinely democratic and socialist change. I think the key question for the discussion today is the question of the people in North Africa and the Middle East and the fact that again and again, imperialism internationally has not been the friend of those people and will not be the friend of those people in the future."@en1
