"I supported this Directive, which will ensure that a protection order issued in one Member State will be recognised in all Member States. This means that victims of stalking, harassment and domestic violence who have been granted a protection order can expect the same level of protection if they move to another EU country. Given that over a million British citizens live in other European countries, this is an important move in helping to maintain their right to safety and security. The report includes provisions for a multilingual protection order certificate that will be available online and can be easily transmitted between Member States. Protected people will also have the right to receive information and assistance in their own language."@en1
