"The Czech Government has agreed to sign up to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union under Protocol No 30 (Only the UK and Poland use this). This is being sought because the Czechs are concerned that the Charter as it stands may impact on the Beneš Decree leading to reparations payments or rights of return being claimed. I voted in favour of this report as there is no need to hold a convention on such a small change, a convention would simply be a waste of money. EU membership is of great benefit to Wales and I know my constituents want to make sure that money is spent in the correct way."@en1
