lpv:spoken text	"I supported this own initiative report as I believe that renewable energy has an important role to play in the EU’s internal energy market. It is also key to securing energy supplies and competitiveness, and it goes without saying that renewable energy is vital if we are to meet environmental targets. I supported an amendment put down by Labour MEPs for the Commission to come forward with a binding renewable energy target by 2030 and I pleased that MEPs supported this. Renewable energy can also help us to create jobs and growth in the EU and by carrying out more research we will be able to create industrial development, more advanced technology and as a result, job creation."@en1
