lpv:spoken text	"I welcome this own-initiative report, which highlights the main challenges facing the EU’s former industrial regions and looks at how EU Cohesion Policy can support the future development and structural transformation of the old industrial regions. This report looks at some ideas on how to overcome specific challenges and obstacles that these areas face, especially during this ongoing financial and economic crisis. Aligning the EU’s industrial policy with the Europe 2020 Strategy is hugely important and Cohesion Policy measures could help achieve this. Industrial regeneration is something that is very important to my constituency, Wales, and I believe harnessing the potential of the EU’s industrial sector to encourage job creation and growth and to promote innovation is crucial."@en1
