"I voted against the discharge of the ITER project. The EU is spending EUR 13 billion on the project and we are not even sure if it is going to work, or if it is safe. These EUR 13 billion could be better spent on other EU projects, especially in a time of economic crisis when every euro is precious. Research that I have published shows that each person in Wales receives GBP 40 more from the EU than we put in. There is currently much debate about cutting the MFF; if we put a stop to ITER, much of our budget problems would be solved."@en1
