lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this report on current EU - China relations which contains numerous recommendations for the Chinese authorities as well as for the EU institutions, including the EEAS. It is important for the European Parliament to recognise China as a strategic partner. We need good relation with China but this does not mean that we cannot point out, in a friendly and respectful manner, that there are many areas in need of improvement, including democratisation, political reforms, the fight against corruption and respect for human rights. I support this report as it calls on China to comply with minimum social standards and calls for banning all goods which have been produced in prison camps or by child labour. In addition it calls on the Chinese authorities to engage the local peoples in governance issues and to put an end to the ban of independent observers to the regions of Tibet and Xinjiang."@en1
