lpv:spoken text	"I completely condemn the recent actions of the North Korean regime, its appalling human rights record and its role in using the threat of nuclear weapons to increase tensions in the region. The regime is using the nuclear issue and is increasing tensions with South Korea and imperialism in order to distract from the devastating realities of life in North Korea. However, I abstained on this resolution as it unfortunately failed to mention the role the South Korean Government is playing in increasing tensions on the Korean peninsula – also in its own self-interest. Life in North Korea is a nightmare for working class people, small farmers and the poor. I stand for a struggle to overthrow the brutal, corrupt Stalinist dictatorship in North Korea; for genuine workers’ democracy with the democratic control of government, and democratic planning of the economy. This would be of huge importance for a struggle to end the poverty, repression, dictatorship and conflict that dominates the region. It would also provide the basis for the elimination of nuclear weapons and the threat they pose to humanity."@en1
