In order to obtain better levels of transparency, it is important that the EU is able to make available comparable, up-to-date and reliable information on the structure and developments in the economic situation of the Member States. It is equally important that the ESA 95 Regulation is revised. ESA is used for administrative purposes such as own resources, Structural Funds and excessive deficit procedure. Wales receives a large amount of funding through the Structural Funds and it is important that EU institutions and governments are provided with the necessary information and statistics on which to base their decisions to decide who receives further funding."@en1
