lpv:spoken text	"I believe that it is very important to make sure that fish stocks are fished in a manner which is not only sustainable but also in a manner which does not destroy the ecosystems of the fish and that is the reason why I have voted in favour of this report. As the technical measures under the CFP will not be coming into force before 1 January 2014, we must support the extension of the technical rules in place for a transitional period. These measures relating to the rules on fishing gear, such as the net mesh used by fishermen, are essential in order to ensure sustainability, protect ecosystems and also protect the safety of fishermen throughout Europe. On this basis, I am glad to support this report and the measures proposed within it."@en1
