"I voted in favour of this resolution, which requires labels on imports from third countries to state where the product originates from. This is in response to the Commission’s plans to withdraw the ‘made in’ regulation, which Parliament strongly backed in 2010. This resolution now asks the Commission to either change its mind or table an alternative. I fully support Parliament’s resolution because I believe this is an important step for consumer rights; mandatory ‘made in’ labelling is essential in allowing buyers to make informed choices. There should be no double standards where some countries have labels on products and others do not. This is not fair to citizens, consumers or to manufacturers."@en1
