"I voted in favour of rejecting this proposal. I know from my own Member State that the criminal law of Scotland is significantly different from that of England or Northern Ireland and that makes statistical comparisons in this field difficult. These differences can only be amplified across a further 26 Member States and I question the added value likely to be gained from the Commission proposal."@en1
