"With my colleagues I voted against the EU Colombia/Peru Trade Agreement. There are concerns that the trade agreement with the two countries could have negative impacts on their development and on human rights. Colombia is the most dangerous place in the world to be a trade union member. Money laundering will also be made easier by this agreement. I know from correspondence from constituents in Wales of their concerns regarding EU trade policy. Europe should use its influence to promote a more ethical foreign policy in its overseas relations. We would like to see a very different trade agreement – one that deals with the real challenges facing these countries and their peoples at economic level and in terms of human rights."@en1
