I in fact believe that this explanation should have been more detailed, not only for the good and benefit of the common fisheries policy (CFP), but also all those operating in the sector. The characteristics normally associated with small-scale fishing include strong ties to the economy, social structure, culture and traditions of coastal towns and communities. I therefore believe that, as stated in the European Parliament resolution of 25 February 2010 on the Green Paper on the reform of the common fisheries policy, small-scale fishing requires different treatment with management models or regimes adapted to its specific characteristics and problems."@en1
