Both sides stand to gain from renewed cooperation, benefitting from economic development and providing incentives for the necessary political reforms. Europe should make a definite commitment to supporting priority areas such as human rights, the rule of law, good governance and democratisation. Dialogue between the two parties should be made a priority since this is the only way to further the ambitious plans for a stable democracy. The efforts made by Kazakhstan to improve relations with its neighbours and resolve questions bilaterally should be seen in a positive light. For these reasons I voted in favour."@en1
