"Mr President, having listened to the Commissioner, I have to say that it is a shame that she has not read my proposals. It is a shame that she does not know that all countries abiding by the attached fin rule only fish for fresh fish, as I propose. It is a shame that she does not realise that Taiwan, which has freezer vessels, is currently reviewing the rule proposed by the Commissioner due to lack of fish quality. It is also a shame that she was not honest enough to say that there is no finning taking place and that her proposal is a concession to the non-governmental organisations.
Having listened to my fellow Members make some truly incredible statements due to being out of touch with reality, I hope that they will better inform themselves before making decisions, which are never inconsequential for workers and their families."@en1
