In the debates on the Energy Roadmap for 2050, it is essential to defend the principle of technological neutrality for unconventional hydrocarbons. Our strategy must be deployed on two fronts: on the one hand, under the principle of subsidiarity, the European Union cannot impose or ban the use of any specific type of energy; on the other hand, the EU must guarantee rules that ensure a high level of environmental protection. We, therefore, have to continue to research innovation exploration techniques in order to improve our knowledge of our energy resources."@en1
