"The environmental impact of shale gas extraction has attracted a great deal of interest in Poland for some months now, although we still cannot be certain as to the real availability of this resource. Amendment 4 and paragraph 34 have excited emotion with their reference to a ban on hydrofracking in coal mining areas. Since the report has succeeded in securing a majority in favour of rejecting a precautionary ban on hydraulic fracturing, it should be supported as a whole. The problem is that this is an own-initiative report and therefore has scant legislative significance."@en1
