Europe must equip itself with reliable instruments in order to improve its cohesion and the effectiveness of its internal policies. The European Union has enabled every European citizen to move freely within the Schengen area. This real progress has a direct impact on our fellow citizens and their mobility, but it is essential to be able to monitor migratory flows so that the EU does not become a sieve. The new technological tool will help to increase the confidence of European citizens that they belong to a Europe that protects them."@en1
