"Mr President, I voted in favour of this report because I support the mobilisation of the European Union Solidarity Fund in response to the earthquakes of May 2012 in the Emilia Romagna region in Italy. I believe that financial assistance should be released as soon as possible for communities affected by natural disasters. All European, local and regional authorities must be involved. We need better coordination for future requests for assistance from this Fund. At the same time, we need to eliminate all obstacles and unjustified delays that prevent the funds from being released promptly."@en1
