"Mr President, Ms Morvai, if you had listened attentively, you would have understood what I said about Israel and Gaza. Yes, we do want to use our budgetary resources so that whatever we build actually remains standing over the long term. There were two points to be made here, and I expressed both of them very clearly. The war must end. In the past, we spent too much money on building things that were later destroyed. It is important to make that clear, but we should not draw a veil over the other aspect. For me, that means sending a clear signal to Hamas. We must work with Egypt to help bring peace to this region. That is important, also in order to ensure that the funds that we provide are not wasted but are used for our own region’s or our neighbours’ future."@en1
