The report even calls on Member States to implement these decisions as quickly as possible and suggests ‘naming and shaming’ those who do not. The banking union we are being promised is just another step towards an austere federal States of Europe, about which the text is quite explicit. The usual superficial call for the European Parliament to have a bit more power and stressing the importance of social inclusion and solidarity do not change the key issues. I voted against the text because of the false solutions it proposes and its calls for austerity."@en1
