lpv:translated text	". I voted in favour of this text, which aims to establish genuine banking union between Member States. This is the response by the European Parliament to President van Rompuy’s initiative to redefine economic and monetary union. The report proposes greater fiscal and economic union between Member States while strengthening democratic accountability. The intention is to use the provisions in the treaties to avoid amendments or new ratification procedures, which would take a considerable amount of time. I believe that European integration can go a long way to solving the crisis. It allows for better management, improved cost-cutting, and greater coordination of actions. This is particularly true within the euro area but the door is open to anyone who wishes to join us."@en1
