". The variety of payment instruments has been steadily growing in Europe and worldwide. While new ways of using mobile and internet payments seem to be appearing rapidly, affecting both clients and enterprises, the card payment market is still a long way from its full potential and efficiency. The card, internet and mobile payment market is still fragmented in the European Union. There are significant differences between Member States with regard to the use of card payments. The process of creating the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) facilitates bank transfers in 32 European countries and all the participating countries will have to have implemented the common SEPA standards from 2014. In my opinion, since SEPA will bridge the gap between national and cross-border payments, the goal of integrating the card payments market should be to make cross-border payments as convenient as payments at a national level. It would be good to have more cross-border actors in this area."@en1
